Critical Safety Warning
Mains voltage can kill
Do not work on mains voltage, switchboards, fixed wiring, power outlets, power supplies, EV systems, solar systems or any other high-voltage equipment unless you are legally permitted, qualified, competent and properly equipped. Disconnecting power is not enough unless you have verified isolation with appropriate test equipment. When in doubt, stop and use a licensed electrician.
General educational information only
Kobee tutorials, calculators, apps, configurators, estimators, product selectors, code examples, wiring diagrams, product pairings, videos, guides, downloads, templates, generated outputs and other resources are general educational information. They are not professional advice and they are not a substitute for your own engineering, electrical, safety, compliance, certification, legal or other professional assessment.
You are responsible for deciding whether a project, product, component, app, calculator, tool, process, output, code snippet, design or recommendation is suitable and safe for your circumstances.
Calculators, apps and generated outputs
Calculators, apps, configurators, estimators, selector tools and similar resources may use simplified formulas, assumptions, tolerances, nominal values, example data, third-party data or user-entered inputs. They may not account for every real-world condition, including component tolerance, derating, heat, ageing, transients, firmware behaviour, enclosure effects, electromagnetic interference, supply quality, certification requirements or installation environment.
Do not treat a calculator result, app output, compatibility suggestion, product recommendation, code generation, bill of materials, wiring diagram or configuration as a final design decision. Independently verify the output with authoritative sources, test equipment, manufacturer documentation, qualified advice where needed, and safe prototypes before use.
Make your own risk assessment
- Read the latest manufacturer datasheets, manuals, errata, safety warnings and regulatory information.
- Check voltage, current, power, temperature, polarity, fusing, enclosure, isolation, airflow, wire gauge and connector ratings.
- Check all assumptions, units, tolerances, limits, input values, formulas, code, generated files and output values before using them.
- Use safe power supplies and current-limited testing where appropriate.
- Plan for battery charging, short-circuit protection, fire risk, chemical leakage, swelling and disposal.
- Confirm radio, EMC, electrical, workplace, school, aviation, vehicle, medical, privacy and data laws that may apply.
- Use appropriate PPE, ventilation, supervision, tools and test equipment.
No certification or fitness promise
A tutorial, app, calculator, code sample or tool may demonstrate a concept or prototype. It does not mean the resulting project, product selection, circuit, software, enclosure, installation or workflow is certified, production-ready, commercially compliant, safe for unattended use, suitable for children, suitable for harsh environments, or fit for a particular purpose.
Hazardous work
Do not work on mains voltage, high-current systems, vehicles, lithium battery packs, solar systems, medical equipment, security systems, access control, industrial controls or other hazardous systems unless you are legally permitted, competent and equipped to do so.
If something becomes hot, smells unusual, smokes, sparks, swells, leaks, trips protection, behaves unexpectedly or makes you unsure, disconnect power if it is safe to do so and stop.
Children, classrooms and group settings
Projects involving children, students or public workshops require supervision by responsible adults or qualified educators. Supervisors should adapt projects to participant age, ability, environment, local school policies and safety requirements.
Updates and errors
Products, firmware, libraries, APIs, calculators, app logic, wiring conventions, standards and laws change. Content and tool outputs may contain mistakes or become outdated. Check for updates, comments, product revisions and manufacturer guidance before starting.
If you find an error, unsafe instruction, incorrect calculation, broken app behaviour or misleading output, contact hello@kobee.com.au so we can review it.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws, Kobee is not liable for loss, damage, injury, death, project failure, data loss, certification failure, legal non-compliance, wrong product selection, incorrect component values, unsafe wiring, software failure, downtime, or costs arising from use of or reliance on tutorials, calculators, apps, configurators, estimators, selector tools, generated outputs, downloads, code samples or educational content.
